Sex therapy is a specialist area of therapy that focuses on the intersection between our mental well-being and sexual concerns, sexual dysfunctions, sexual pleasure, sexual functioning, and sexual expression. Sex therapy explores the impact sexual dysfunctions have on the individual and their relationship with the intention to support the revitalization of weakened or lost connections that result.
A sex therapist is a registered counselling therapist, psychologist, relationship/marriage counsellor, psychotherapist or psychologist with specialized clinical training and theoretical knowledge about intersection between human sexuality and the impact on our psyche. A sex therapist will use a combination skills and training to address and customize your plan of care.
